Oh, I haven't blogged for long time I know.
And here's the reason why......
Little m.
He's becoming so much fun to be with at the moment. I just can't resist spending all of my day time with him. (Which means absolutely no housework gets done...)
But he's also growing teeth, having his first cold, and now that he has turned six months, he's demanding my time more than ever before. He has also decided that daytime sleeping is no longer the thing for him....and as a consequence of being so exhausted by the end of the day, over the last week or so I have only made crafting disasters. Including an elephant softie that has the most ridiculous ears you have ever seen. It was straight into the bin for that little guy.
I did however manage to get to the Stitches and Craft show last week here in Melbourne, which was fabulous. I did a brilliant craft lab on acetate etching by Tegan Rose from Ink and Spindle.
Here's what I did on the day,I'm not really in love with the picture I created, but I love the technique.
And it also inspired me to get out my print Gocco and start designing and printing some fabric for Little m's new quilt.
Here's my first attempt at printing on fabric
I need a bit more practice with my technique I think....but at least my creatively disastrous phase has hopefully ended.
Oh wow, love the fabric you've printed-sooooo cute!! What is the technique you used? Do you have printing beds to produce this much fabric??
ReplyDeleteEmma :)
Hi Emma,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment! No, I don't have printing beds, I just print it on my little work table, I just matched the repeat by eye. And I used my print gocco to 'expose' my screen. It's a fabulous little machine!
Wow- your fabric is really fabulous - how clever are you!!! Amazing!1!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling little m!!!
ReplyDeleteAs for crafting and being mommy - as long as you enjoy yourself - it will balance it self out ;) Your fabric and those flowery prints are so so nice! Love those little elephants (especially the one with a baby inside, gosh!!!), very sweet:)
Have a great weekend.
what a cutie, i like his hair and what a beautiful smile :0)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your little one, they grow up so fast!
Did you manage to take some pictures of the Stitches and Craft show?
I miss Australia soo much, nothing beats the Aussie Stitches and Craft shows.
Have a wonderful week and thank you so much for your nice comments on my blog!
Your fabric is so cool! What kind of fabric paint did you use? I've been thinking about trying to print fabric with my gocco.
ReplyDeleteLittle m is very cute! No wonder you are distracted. When Cohen started smiling all I did all day was watch those smiles. Now he's rolling onto his side (and his tummy a couple of times) - I really have to watch him or else he wiggles away!
Hi there!
ReplyDeleteI stumbled onto your gorgeous blog via someone elses, and WOW!
I adore that fabric. In fact I would buy that fabric! You are one very talented lady.
I think that your design is excellent! I would buy it!
ReplyDeleteI have just discovered your blog. The elephant design is very impressive indeed and even more so knowing that you did it all with such a small screen by eye!
